Ripple Glass Curbside Recycling Program

We are excited to share the news that Roeland Park will launch a curbside glass recycling pickup program in January 2023. Ripple Glass will serve as the City’s partner and will be handling all glass recycling. A portion of the cost is reflected in your 2023 solid waste service assessment which is incorporated on your property tax bill. Here is what you need to know!

Why Recycle Glass?

After a test pilot program conducted through Spring of 2022 collected more than 22,000 pounds of glass across 654 Roeland Park Homes, it was determined there was enough interest in curbside glass recycling usage from Roeland Park residents to launch this program Citywide.

Details: Your purple Ripple Glass recycling bin will be dropped off at your residence the first week of December 2022 and the first glass pickup will occur in January 2023. On your first trash collection pickup day of each month please place your purple bin at the curb along with your other solid waste containers (trash, yard waste and recycling) and Ripple will collect the glass from your bin. Please place your purple bin at the curb by 7 a.m. and pick it back up once your glass has been collected.

More Information: Click here for a detailed list of all the glass items that you will be able to recycle and a calendar of your pick up dates.

Questions: If you have questions on the program, call City Hall at 913-722-2600. If your glass pickup is ever missed or if you have any bin questions, please contact Piercyn Charbonneau, Ripple Glass Commercial Program Manager, at 816-221-4527.
