2022 Street Maintenance Continues

2022 Street Maintenace Map - UBAS

Beginning on August 2nd, 2022, the city's contractor Mc Anany Construction, Inc. will begin preventative maintenance on the highlighted streets on the attached map. Some select concrete curbs will be replaced prior to the surfacing of these streets. The street surface treatment option chosen is a UBAS (Ultra Thin Bonded Asphalt Surface) which is a thin lift of asphalt over the existing road surface. The process begins with milling off 5/8 inches of the existing pavement. Crews will clean any debris from the roadway and a machine will apply an asphalt liquid binding agent followed by a thin layer of hot mix asphalt. Machines will then compact this material to ensure the adhesion to the roadway.  The placement is very quick and the streets are opened for traffic immediately after.  We kindly request that your vehicles are off of the street, so the contractor can move as quickly as possible.  Any vehicles on the road will be subject to tow if we cannot get the owner to move it right away.  Residents can expect door hangers to be placed on doors with dates for when the work is planned to begin on the highlighted streets on the map.   This method of street maintenance is a cost-effective solution to maintain the streets in good condition.

The city appreciates the partnership and patience of residents as we continue to invest in city infrastructure. If you have any questions, please call Public Works at 913-722-5435 or email
