Events of the past several years have turned a challenging spotlight on White people, and Whiteness, in the United States. The podcast “Seeing White” explores what it means to be White in the United States. You can find the podcast on any platform, and it’s linked on Spotify here: Podcast Episode.

Join Racial Equity Committee member Diane Mora for a discussion of the 16 minute podcast episode “Turning the Lens (Seeing White, Part 1). Learn more about Diane in the attached bio, and we look forward to the discussion!

The Ad Hoc Racial Equity Committee started in September 2020 after the City approved a racial equity resolution no. 682. Part of this charge was to begin a committee to review the City's policies and determine how we could become more inclusive as a community.

Part of the committee's goal is to help educate the community on matters of racial justice. The Committee in cooperation with Johnson County Public Library has put together several resources for members of the community to start to learn more about race and racism. We encourage you to check out these links to learn more.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all City meetings remain remote until further notice. Below is the information to participate in this meeting.
