Construction Projects

Johnson County Fiber

Johnson County and the City of Roeland Park have reached an agreement for the County to provide a fiber line from the Community Center to our City Hall building.

This fiber project will begin in early May. You will see crews working at the Community Center site heading east with their bore equipment to Roe Boulevard and 48th Street. They will then bore the fiber line south on Roe Boulevard to our City Hall offices.

2015 CARS Project: County Line Road and Roe Boulevard Turn-Around

This project is to address the deteriorated curb along County Line road between Mission and Roe Lane.

Crews will have a portion of County Line road completely blocked off with detours to use Elledge Drive during phase 1. Currently, Phase 1 is 90% complete. Phase 2, between Elledge and Fontana, will begin very soon. We anticipate this project will last 2 to 3 weeks.

The turnaround on Roe Boulevard, north of 48th Street will begin as soon as the curb work on County Line Road is complete.

2016 CARS Project: Commerce Bank Intersection

This project was to construct the turn lane for south/north bound traffic on Roe Boulevard access to the northeast and northwest lots at Roe Boulevard and Johnson Drive.

This project is 95% complete. We are focusing on restoration or disturbed areas.
